John Battley Chief Operating Officer

John qualified at Sydney University as a Pharmacist, Accountant and Economist. After being awarded his degrees he worked for a major Global Pharmaceutical Company for nine years in senior sales and marketing roles in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. John’s passion for travel expense management began almost thirty years ago when, on returning to Perth, he started Globetrotter Travel which eventually grew into the largest Western Australian Corporate Travel Management company. His drive to provide a positive and innovative work environment is limitless and staff feed off his love for the industry. In the ever changing business environment, John is constantly striving to keep Emerchants as the industry leader in meeting and exceeding client needs and expectations.

Tony Ferguson Chief Information Officer

Tony has extensive experience in the financial services and technology industries. As the founder of Emerchants (est. 2001), Tony has built a company that has redefined the traditional notion of a stored value card and has made it possible for its customer to take stored value to the next level. As well as possessing high level skills at developing effective working relationships with suppliers, clients and team members, Tony is highly literate, numerate and with high quality critical thinking and analysis abilities. Tony has excellent management, problem solving and negotiation skills. For more than 20 years prior to Emerchants, Tony held senior positions for a number of high tech companies.

Bruce Stewart Financial Controller

Bruce has 15 years experience as a Chartered Accountant qualifying at Deloitte & Touche where he worked as an audit manager servicing a broad range of industries. After leaving public practice Bruce held senior finance positions in the UK and Australia at The Royal Bank of Scotland and DHL.

Prior to joining Emerchants, Bruce worked at Macquarie Bank for 6 years, Australia's largest investment bank, initially serving as the financial controller of Macquarie’s American business and later was also responsible for helping grow the firm’s private equity business where he was involved in making and managing principal acquisitions on behalf of Macquarie in the transport services, infrastructure and healthcare services. Later Bruce was involved in a series of acquisitions in the Aerospace and Defence sector which were subsequently integrated to form Macquarie’s inaugural American Aerospace Portfolio. Bruce worked closely with senior management to integrate and organically grow the businesses under the Macquarie brand.

Donna Ferguson General Manager Sales and Marketing

Donna has over 15 years of professional business experience covering finance, manufacturing and strategic and product development. She has held senior operational positions, with P&L responsibility, in a number of successful business-to-consumer and business-to-business commerce ventures. Prior to joining EML, Donna was operations manager of Omo Pty Ltd.
