John Battley Managing Director

John qualified at Sydney University as a Pharmacist, Accountant and Economist. After being awarded his degrees he worked for a major Global Pharmaceutical Company for nine years in senior sales and marketing roles in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. John’s passion for travel expense management began almost thirty years ago when, on returning to Perth, he started Globetrotter Travel which eventually grew into the largest Western Australian Corporate Travel Management company. His drive to provide a positive and innovative work environment is limitless and staff feed off his love for the industry. In the ever changing business environment, John is constantly striving to keep EMerchants as the industry leader in meeting and exceeding client needs and expectations.

Anthony Ferguson Chief Operating Officer (Director)

Tony has extensive experience in the financial services and technology industries. As the founder of EMerchants (est. 2001), Tony has built a company that has redefined the traditional notion of a stored value card and has made it possible for its customer to take stored value to the next level. As well as possessing high level skills at developing effective working relationships with suppliers, clients and team members, Tony is highly literate, numerate and with high quality critical thinking and analysis abilities. Tony has excellent management, problem solving and negotiation skills. For more than 20 years prior to EMerchants, Tony held senior positions for a number of high tech companies.

Mark Sanders Chief Technical Officer

Mark is experienced in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings and in both the private and public sectors. He joined EMerchants in 2002 as Chief Technology Officer and following the CEO’s vision, he architected, developed and deployed a custom stored value card software application to service the Australia and Australasian markets. Mark has held senior positions at MetaTools, ESRI, Texas Instruments and E-Systems. He has carried out numerous consulting engagements in organizations such as SCI Real Estate Investments, Rubbercraft Corporation and FSV Payment Systems. He holds both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University.
